The main altar of Isis was on the ground in front and to the left of
the temple. It was a relatively plain stone platform, quite tall,
with a step in front of it where the priests burnt thier offerings.
Offerings to Isis had a generally benign character: fruit, flowers,
perfumes, cloth, grain. They were in accord with the emphasis of the
cult on peace and fertility, and with the fact that the cult of Isis
was generally considered a women's religion.
