At the front of the temple complex is a curious little low building. The early excavators reported that it just contained ashes. Perhaps these were the ashes of the sacrifices burnt on the main altar. To the left of this image is the main door of the temple onto the street. It is shown open, but at night, heavy wooden doors would have been drawn across it.
